The Gulf of Diana is that large area that encompasses three coastal municipalities, Diano Marina, San Bartolomeo al Mare and Cervo; and four inland municipalities: Diano Castello, Diano Arentino, Diano San Pietro and Villa Faraldi.
Its special feature, particularly in summertime, are the long stretches of sandy beach in the central part of the gulf. Water sports can be enjoyed as well as the wealth offered by the surrounding countryside, which is still unspoilt and bountiful.
You can take walks through olive groves, vineyards and fruit and vegetable plantations, cycle along the ancient salt routes or the “mulattiere” or mule tracks, as far as the nearby valleys.
The wealth of our land is further enhanced by the range of food and wine it offers, culminating in fine olive oil, wines, fruit and vegetables. Wines of particular note include Pigato and Vermentino, both with DOC (controlled denomination of origin) appellation and produced locally, in wineries that are definitely worth a visit.
The small seaside and inland towns of Liguria offer history, culture, shopping and entertainment.
